Lake County Jail Ministry

LCC is one of several area churches that support the Jail Ministry through funding, visitation, discipleship, hope for restoration, and trained volunteers who bring the life-changing light of the gospel. Our Tom Chapman is on the board of the Jail Ministry serving previously as Chaplain for 25 years, coordinating church services and mentoring inmates. Greg Thompson has been serving the incarcerated men with the trained volunteer team.  Two of our ladies from Leroy serve faithfully once a month at the Sunday service for the incarcerated women.  These volunteers also serve as encouragement to the staff at the jail. Dave & Jen Carroll

Dave and Jen are well-known and loved here at Leroy Chapel. They have ministered in Uganda for the last 28 years. God is using their lives and ministry in numerous exciting areas. Presently they are in the U.S. During this time stateside, they have been very busy.  Dave is hoping to finish the revision of The Father’s Heart book (written primarily for the African readership, but heralded worldwide by believers who have found it beneficial in their lives) before they transition back to Uganda at the beginning of April. He is also researching and meeting with various ministries to plan…

Courtnee White

Courtnee has been a member of the Cru staff for almost 27 years! In the fall season of 2025, she attended a National Staff Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with more than 3,000 Cru missionaries. Included was a strong focus on Transformational Prayer, which assists in taking the gospel to the innermost parts of a person’s heart.  At the conference, prayer rooms were offered for quiet reflection, and one was available for Transformation Prayer appointments.  In the middle of this formation was a garden to plant “prayer seeds” and write short prayers on garden stakes.  Their keynote speaker was  Beth Guckenberger, a…

Ethel Nelson

Our retired missionary Ethel Nelson lives in Painesville. She loves all people and that includes her family at Leroy Chapel. Her heart is for the lost people of the world. Ethel served with her husband Roy for over 50 years through United World Missions as a church planter, teacher and discipleship trainer. Beginning in 1949 she served in Cuba until 1959 when the Castro regime took over the country and it was unsafe to stay. The remainder of years were served in Guatemala City. Many of their church plants are still carried on by those they discipled and their families. The church they began in…

John & Sue Cutlip

John and Sue Cutlip are missionaries with Open Air Campaigners, OAC, in Nazareth, P.A. John spent a week, last July, participating in a children’s  ministry outreach in Rochester, New York. This was a ministry outreach to children whose parents had immigrated from Nepal and Bhutan,  Asia, to Rochester, New York. John was grateful not to have to travel  7,000 miles and 30 hours on a round-trip journey to South Asia. John has also been working on compiling a history of OAC’s mission’s work that covers 1983 to the present. John says, “It is important to record what God is doing…

Dave & Ginger Muchmore

Haiti has been home for Ginger much of her life.  Her parents were missionaries there when she was a child; Ginger married Dave and they ministered on the Plateau area of northwestern Haiti while raising their children. Their daughter Judy married Manis, and they continue to live and minister there while raising their daughter, Ani. Three generations of missionary work in Haiti from one committed Christian family. Praise God!   Dave and Ginger presently reside in Pennsylvania as they care for Ginger’s dad who is 96; however, they still are actively involved with the mission work named Lemuel Ministries that…

In September, Rod and Mayra spent 3 weeks in PA visiting three of their supporting churches, Elizabethtown Grace, Mt. Joy Church of God, and Word of Life Chapel. Some of their interaction with these churches is related to plans for next summer short term team missions planning. Over the past 21 years living in Ixtapaluca, they have received hundreds of visitors (including Leroy Chapel teams) engaging them in ministry varying from construction and electricity to English classes, volleyball tournaments, spa…

Frank Ulle

We identify Frank with the keyboard on Sunday mornings, but the fact that he is an “audio artist” may not be evident to many here at LCC.   Frank’s audio drama series “Nick Guy, Private Eye” is currently airing on over 200 stations throughout the world plus multiple streaming services.  He currently has enough 30 minute episodes to air one a week for over seven years, before having to repeat one! These are exciting dramas that focus on Christian Apologetics in a variety of settings.  Kids and adults enjoy and appreciate these dramas.  He is now a part of Audio Drama Alliance (ADA) which has allowed him to…
