Rod and Mayra Fry have been church planting in Mexico City since 1997. They began their third church plant in Ixtapaluca in November 2016.
This summer Rod and Mayra accompanied 18 church members to Leon Guanajuato to support a small church in their VBS program for the week. They assisted alongside a missionary couple and a small group of local believers through several outreach events designed to encourage families, build relationships and point people to Christ. This is part of their on going in-country mission trip experience. Next trip is September 7-11 in Oaxaca.
In June and July the Fry’s hosted 3 short term mission teams. A team of 15 visited from Word of Life Chapel started off the construction of an addition at the Jesus Maria Church. Youth meetings were held in the evening. Baking classes were offered to the neighborhood women as an outreach. Three eye glass distribution events were also scheduled.
Mt. Calvary Church sent a group of 16 boys for a summer visit, this is their 10th year. They host a Saturday youth retreat and 105 young people attended. Dean of Students and pastor at Pueblo Bible Seminary brought the message.
A pediatrician, a dentist and 17 members from the church recently traveled to Oaxaca City area to show the love of Jesus to a small church facing some opposition. They distributed 300 food packages as well as making available many dental and doctor appointments. They supplied eye glassed, hearing aids and free medical supplies to the patients seen. A second village was given 1800 chickens and lots of fresh produce.
As you can see, the Fry’s are very creative in their ministering to the needs of the people in this country they love.
The Fry’s are grateful to LCC for the proceeds they received from the Art Auction. They ask for prayer for all the families who have been recipients of their outreach that it would lead to deeper spiritual conversation and seeds planted would take root and bear lasting fruit.
