MISSIONS

  • The Carroll family

The month of February was extremely busy for Dave & Jen as the son Josh, a professional filmmaker, flew in from the U.S. to film a documentary entitled "The Father's Heat". There is a preview posted on YouTube with this description:

Journey with us as we make a powerful movie in Africa about the theme of God as Father. "The Father's Heart" weaves five powerful true stories into an immersive, cinematic movie that invites you to experience the life-changing truth that you are loved by God; a love that not only transforms your destiny but the broken world around you. The Father's love is not something to earn or strive for - it is a gift to be received. Discover your purpose and the identity you've been searching for. Witness powerful examples of how God's love can transform even the most broken heart. The film deals with some deep issues; war trauma, disability, alcohol addiction, and childhood abuse, but ultimately proclaims that no heart, no situation, and no story is too broken for God to heal. The film is more than just another movie; it's a proclamation that God's love is the only thing that can bring life to a dying world. For more information, check out http://www.youtube.com@thefathersheartmovie.

In his February newsletter, Dave wrote, "This is such an important ministry tool, and every time we share about the project with people, the excitement builds. The budget is proving more expensive than we thought. Josh has worked hard to streamline it, but we still need about $20,000 to finish it."

If you would like to contribute, you may do so online at www.cten.org/davecarroll and designate it for the documentary. If giving by mail, please make checks payable to CTEN (Commission to Every Nation), P.O. Box 291307, Kerrville TX, 78029-1307. Please include a separate note stating that it is for Dave & Jen Carroll's ministry in Uganda and designate it for the documentary.

  • International justice mission

IJM’ S proven Community Protection Model Worldwide:

    1. Strengthen Justice Systems

    2. Rescue and Restor Victims

    3. Bring Criminals to Justice

    4. Scale Demand for Protection

January was Human Trafficking Awareness Month. For more than 25 years IJM has been unified in hope for action worldwide. Their teams have relieved and protected millions of people from violence - 93,000 survivors!  50 million people are victims of human trafficking around the world.  1 victim of  modern slavery is abducted every hour.  People in power prey on the vulnerabilities that poverty creates. IJM’s focus is to partner with local communities to build a more just world where everyone can expect to be safe and protected.

As millions watched the Super Bowl, keep in mind that the estimated number of children trafficking into modern slavery could fill Caesars Superdome 150 times...it’s a shocking statistic, but one we can help change together. IJM’s hope is greater than our despair.  Our collective action is greater than indifference.  And together we are building a future where freedom is greater than injustice.

Please join in the goals of I J M with your prayers for their success in saving the lives of the vulnerable.  And join this effort by going to www.ijm.org with your donations. Together, unified, we can make a difference! Thank you from IJM and God bless you.

  • DYLAN & HANNAH ENTZ

Dylan and Hannah Entz are missionaries in Uganda. They spent 4 months in the United States this year and then headed back to Africa. The Nosu tribe translation team was able to create a draft of the gospel of Luke while Hannah and Dylan were gone. Hannah and Dylan were also able to purchase and transfer 500 Scripture audio players and SD

    cards with Nosu Bible stories.

This past year they were able to adapt an older New Testament that was done in a specific dialect of Nosu to make it more readable. Hannah and Dylan did a first printing of this resource and since there is a huge demand for it, they are in the process of printing 3,500 more copies.

Hannah spent November in England so that she could see a doctor that specializes in the rare illness that she has. God provided support and care and enabled Hannah to have all the appointments that she needed. Yet, a clear treatment plan or clear explanation for all of Hannah’s symptoms has not been created. She will follow up remotely and is waiting for more test results.

Please pray for Hannah and Dylan as they share many challenges. Pray for perseverance and a good support system for Hannah and their 3-year-old, Isaiah. Pray that Dylan and Hannah’s translation helps to enable the Nosu people to have a personal relationship with Christ.
