Our retired missionary Ethel Nelson lives in Painesville. She loves all people and that includes her family at Leroy Chapel. Her heart is for the lost people of the world. Ethel served with her husband Roy for over 50 years through United World Missions as a church planter, teacher and discipleship trainer. Beginning in 1949 she served in Cuba until 1959 when the Castro regime took over the country and it was unsafe to stay. The remainder of years were served in Guatemala City. Many of their church plants are still carried on by those they discipled and their families. The church they began in Guatemala is still a lighthouse for the Gospel after 45 years. Her grandson is ministering in Guatemala to the new generations. The large impact of her life is still producing fruit as she is still in contact with many of those she discipled giving encouragement and prayer. After returning to the US she still does translation work for HOAWW Ministries in Guatemala. Until the age of 90 she tutored adults and students in Spanish. Ethel enjoys visiting her grandchildren and great grandchildren and emails, texts and visits. Ethels life is a life well lived. She has been a faithful steward.

“GOD HAS GIVEN EACH OF YOU A GIFT FROM HIS GREAT VARIETY OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS.  USE THEM WELL TO SERVE ONE ANOTHER.” 1 Peter 4:10 NLT
