Dave & Ginger Muchmore

Haiti has been home for Ginger much of her life.  Her parents were missionaries there when she was a child; Ginger married Dave and they ministered on the Plateau area of northwestern Haiti while raising their children. Their daughter Judy married Manis, and they continue to live and minister there while raising their daughter, Ani. Three generations of missionary work in Haiti from one committed Christian family. Praise God!

Dave and Ginger presently reside in Pennsylvania as they care for Ginger’s dad who is 96; however, they still are actively involved with the mission work named Lemuel Ministries that Judy and Manis manage on a daily basis.  Dave makes frequent trips of 2-3 weeks to Haiti to bring supplies to carry on the work there and to preach, teach, and encourage Manis and the leaders of the church. Ginger makes trips during the year also, while Dave stays home to care for her father.  She is a gifted writer and writes in such a clear, vivid way of daily life on the Plateau and examples of God’s hand at work that one feels the kinship with our Haitian Brothers and Sisters in Christ.  What a privilege to lift them up in prayer to our Father.

Among many ways Lemuel ministers to the people of the Plateau, two stand out:  Lemuel provides schooling for Haitian children from K-9th grade and seeds, land, and training to the local villagers to grow their own gardens to provide food for their families and to sell locally.  All areas of ministry align with these mission statements:

What We Do: Embody the love of Jesus Christ by combating poverty through holistic development.

Why We Do It: To see people who were once enmired in poverty, able to produce positive change for themselves, their families, and their country to the glory of God.

The church there is active and discipled by Manis and Dave, plus others.  Voo-doo is alive on the plateau and the spiritual battles are strong to bring light to that dark place.  Jesus is the light and He is at work in Haiti!
