Children's Ministries Director
Debby has been working with children for over 30 years. She grew up in Ohio, attended Mount Union [College] and graduated with a degree in education. She then taught in elementary grades 2 and 5 for a number of years, resigning only to raise her own children.
As her children grew, Debby began tutoring and teaching home co-op groups, focusing on English, history, and apologetics. She also wrote Sunday School curricula and taught classes. In 2008, she began teaching in a Classical Christian program in Kirtland, where she is currently teaching Composition and Grammar, Classical Literature, and history to middle and upper grade students.
Debby has lived in Leroy with her husband, Frank, and eight children for over 20 years. They have attended Leroy Community Chapel for 16 years, where she has been a part of organizing women's events, and, primarily, youth and children's programs, teaching and developing gospel-centered themes and lessons specific to younger ages. She has been on the staff of Leroy Chapel as Director of Children's Ministries since 2012, where she is privileged and honored to serve her Savior while working and teaching children, alongside many outstanding adults.
A favorite verse is Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord..." This is her heart and goal and she continues to look forward to what God is doing at Leroy Chapel as the body of Christ!
