“To completely transform our families, community and world into devoted followers of Jesus Christ through the Word of God.”
A note from Pastor Mark Spansel regarding LCC's mission statement: The Apostle Paul inspires the Corinthian believers by saying “whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). Everything we do as followers of Jesus Christ is to be worship. As a church we seek to be a worshipping people, not merely in our songs and prayers, but in the culture and ethic of everything we do. There is no such thing for us as ministry and non-ministry – we seek to live the Gospel out in everyday life in everyway we can. As such, we have developed a Missions Statement that reflects this truth.
The Bible unfolds the story of God’s glory (The Gospel) and its great culmination in the person and work of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is a book that transforms because the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation. We trust the Bible and it’s life-giving effect in the hearts of men. The goal of this God’s glory-saturated, Word-directed ministry is men, women, boys and girls who love the Lord with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength. We call that being devoted followers. And we want to see families built around the Kingdom of God – moms and dads taking on the joyful weight of shepherding the hearts of their kids to the glory of God.
We pursue being families that take the love of God outside the walls of the church; where we live, work and play. We believe that the hope of the world is the Church and the message of reconciliation found at the cross. Therefore, we see our primary mission field as the communities in which we live. Gospel living in the community is blessing people with a cup of cold water, and speaking to them of the matchless name of Jesus who loves to forgive sin. Every member of Leroy Chapel is a missionary taking the love of God to places that only they have the opportunity to go.
We also recognize our place in God’s grand scheme for redeeming a group of people for Himself from all the peoples of the world, and we love to join in His global plan. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Christians around the world in preaching the message of Jesus to all nations for the joy of all peoples. We don’t think that we are called to do anything different than what God has always longed for His Bride to be. We find our greatest joy in living life as normal people on the greatest mission ever given.
We’d love for you to join us in this adventure of faith!
