Rejoice!

Joy isn’t a new word to the season of Christmas, everyone uses it … you’ll even find it on the Starbucks Christmas cups.  But let me just remind us all that real joy and great rejoicing only comes from a life that has been redeemed by the Savior.  All joy should find its roots in the joy of Jesus.  All rejoicing, during Advent and the everyday, should be in the great gift of heaven – the baby boy who came to take away the sin of the world.  Rejoice with us this Advent season, and find your joy renewed in the message of the cross!

Foundations of Our Faith

What drives the Church?  Whatever pop culture tells us people are interested in?  Whatever the church growth experts tells us is working?  Or something greater?  In John 14:6, Jesus said “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”  Why do we work so hard in our day to mess that up?  We need always to make sure we are building our foundation on the solid rock of God’s Truth and not the ideas of men.  The Church is driven by an unchanging God and absolute truth as the Spirit has preserved it from generation to generation.  Come and study with us the Foundations of Our Faith as relevant today as ever … and I promise it’ll be interesting too.

The Parable of the Prodigal Son in one of the most well known stories in the Bible, if not all of literature.  It unfolds the drama of two sons, a father, three choices, and a glorious, tragic, and surprising ending. The adventure lives on today, and we are all in it, but where?  That is the question.  Come hear afresh this classic saga and evaluate just where you fit.

Study the book of Galatians

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free: therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.”  Galatians 5:1

Slavery is alive and well. The sad reality is that most people live in a prison cell of their own making. Seeking salvation in anything other than the completed work of Christ shackles them to the ground, unable to soar to the heights of joy that the grace of God offers. The Galatian churches had been set free, yet lived behind bars. The apostle Paul firmly directs them to the freedom that is theirs. We’d love for you to come fly freely in the grace of God with us as we study the book of Galatians.

The Cross Centered Life

The cross is central to our entire belief system and our practical Christian living, but how well do we really know it’s message?  We’re going to start the new year together considering the great ramifications of the Gospel message.  We want to make sure we all know it, fall more in love with it, and live inside of it all our days.

This book is one of the most influential books I’ve ever read because it radically calls us to live a completely Gospel-saturated, Cross-centered life.

Please pray now for how God will transform your life as we begin 2009 together.

Pastor Mark
